Camp NaNoWriMo

We know a lot of people take part in, and curse, stress over and cry about NaNoWriMo, or National Novel Writing Month, which is both brilliant and terrible, writing 50,000 words in the 30 days of November. We have ‘won’ a few times, mostly by not sleeping very much. But, to us, winning doesn’t matter, it’s the fact we’re getting some of our current WIP written.

Camp NaNoWriMo takes place in April, and we are taking part again. We are adding to our initial NaNoWriMo entry last year, ‘Emissaries: Seventh Son’. The first part of our second book series. Set in York it follows the exploits of a group of supernatural beings and a grumpy, frightened young doctor as they battle to preserve a prophecy and save the world from evil demons (as you do).

Camp Nano is the more relaxed version of the November marathon, and we are enjoying jumping back into ‘proper’ writing, with genuine drivers. Sometimes it just helps to have an outside motivation to prod you into action.

Are you taking part in Camp Nano? If so, are you writing someone new or editing a current draft? Let us know how you’re getting on either here or on Twitter (@LM_Towton).
